Hill Engineering Mechanical Presses

Hill Engineering Mechanical Presses

Hill Engineering can utilize various Mechanical Press types within the Formtek family of brands for pre-notch/pre-punch/pre-cut/embossing applications, as well as product cut-off applications. Four-post, two-post, open-throat, tilt type, or commercial presses from various manufacturers can be reviewed to solve our customer’s application.

Tishken Four-Post Mechanical Presses

Tishken Four-Post Mechanical Presses

Tishken Mechanical Presses are a versatile, robust option for roll forming and tube mill systems. Notch presses can pierce, notch, emboss or add other engineered features to the product, either before (pre-notch) or after (post-notch) the roll former, however the application may require. Cutoff presses can cut formed sections to required lengths in a flying die operation, so the roll forming machine never stops.

Tishken HW Series Heavy Duty Roll Forming Systems

Tishken HW Series Heavy Duty Roll Forming Systems

The Tishken HW Heavy Duty Roll Forming Systems serve the area of heavier metal forming. Ample power and rigidity are built into these machines to perform heavier rolling operations at maximum speeds. Like other models, these machines, with slight modifications, may be joined in tandem with one another to produce heavy intricate rolled sections. The clean functional design makes these models an ideal choice in automated lines producing structural rolled sections such as door frames, channel, angles, precision drawer slides and many other high production heavy items.

Tishken Tilt Type Mechanical Presses

Tishken Tilt Type Mechanical Presses

A specialized press for cutting swept profiles, such as automotive trim. The press can be tilted front to back and left to right, allowing you to cutoff single axis and complex curves. And when the need arises, the Tilt-Type press can be adjusted to operate upright like a traditional mechanical press.

Tishken XH Series Extra Heavy Duty Roll Forming System

Tishken XH Series Extra Heavy Duty Roll Forming System

The Tishken XH Extra Heavy Duty Roll Forming Systems are the largest standard size Roll Forming Machines made by Tishken for practical production rolling. Designed to meet the demand for handling wide and deep heavy sections, these machines are constructed with ample room for a great variety of working accessories. In addition, these models give all the advantages found in the lighter models. Guard rails, automotive bumpers, and a variety of other products using high strength steels and exotic metals.

Yoder Four-Headed Mill Cutoff — partnership with Milltech

Yoder Four-Headed Mill Cutoff — partnership with Milltech

Yoder has been involved with the pipe producing market for many years. Cutoffs have evolved from rotary disc or tool machines to friction saws to the latest saw technologies. Milling saws provide a fantastic edge finish with minimum burr but tend to have longer cycle times. Formtek works with its licensee Milltech to provide the pipe mill markets the highest quality with the greatest performance. Milltech has developed mill cutoff systems utilizing 2-heads or 4-heads (depending on pipe size) to provide the best combination of end finish and cycle time performance. These machines are designed to handle the heavy strains put on them by the demanding cycles required by our customers.

Yoder Four-Post Cut-Off Mechanical Presses

Yoder Four-Post Cut-Off Mechanical Presses

Yoder Four-Post Cut-Off Mechanical Presses employ a fabricated steel sub-base, with screw-type lateral and vertical adjustment for machine alignment. The heavy, cast semi-steel frame is stress relieved and accurately machined to insure correct and permanent alignment of moving parts. The heavy duty, machined upper crosshead insures accurate alignment of the die rails, which are hardened and ground, and mounted in pilot grooves.

The crankshaft — a heat treated and machined alloy steel forging — and the flywheel are mounted in grease-lubricated, anti-friction roller bearings with dust seals. The air-operated, multiple-disc clutch and spring set brake are electrically controlled. Provision is made on the P-42 and P-52 presses for non-repeat, single stroke operation, manual cutting, and jogging.

These machines are furnished with a solid-type head, adjustable with spacers or, as an optional feature, can be equipped for setting of shut height with a single screw.

Yoder Hydraulic Presses

Yoder Hydraulic Presses

Yoder Hydraulic Presses are custom built in many ranges and bridge the gap between the economics of pneumatic presses and the heavy-duty performance of mechanical presses. In addition to the range of standard 4-post press sizes, Yoder can integrate custom hydraulic presses to their roll forming or tube mill systems, for inline notching as well as cutoff operations.

Yoder Idlers, Side Pass Stands, Non-Driven Stands

Yoder Idlers, Side Pass Stands, Non-Driven Stands

Yoder Idlers, also known as side pass or non-driven stands, are offered in a yoke or crevice style roll housing, with either a worm height adjustment or shimm-able height adjustment.

  • Yoder M-Series Roll Forming Systems: The idle side roll supports, arranged for lateral cross adjustment by screw, for proper pressure adjustment with respect to the centerline of the mill. Vertical adjustment by worm and screw. Arranged one between each driven stand. A steel yoke ties the top of the spindles together. The yoke is easily removed for changing tools.
  • Yoder WH-Series Roll Forming Systems: base mounted idle side roll stands, arranged for lateral cross-adjustment by screw and for proper pressure adjustment with respect to the centerline of the mill.
    • Idler stands include Yoder’s unique top yoke design. This design secures the yoke without the use of threaded roll shafts and hold-down nuts.
    • Vertical idler height adjustment is by shim or worm screw.
    • Optional Idler roll shaft center-to-center distance displayed using a digital counter similar to that used on the driven roll stand SPA adjustment. Indicates center-to-center distance in inches (e.g., 8.000”).
