Earth day 2018 is April 22. The Formtek Group is celebrating by recounting how we have made improvements in the recent years to reduce our impact on the environment.
- Since 2008, we have been paperless in quoting and order systems, which saves roughly $10k a year in paper consumption.
- We have had a lighting upgrade recently with GE, replacing old mechanical ballast fluorescent lights with the latest in LED technology, and reducing the number of fixtures which will decrease the number of bulbs consumed.
- We recycle approximately a million pounds of scrap material each year.

- Start a recycling initiative at your place of work.
- Explore options for a lighting upgrade which may reduce energy usage and spend.
- Become paperless, or reduce the amount of paper your company uses-there are some helpful hints on how to do this here.
- Carpool to work to reduce vehicle emissions.
- Bring reusable water bottles, tupperware, and utensils to reduce your plastic waste at lunch.
