Estimating Tonnage Requirements
Use this basic formula to estimate your tonnage requirements: (T × L × S) ÷ 2,000 = Required Tonnage

T = Decimal thickness of material in inches
L = Length of cut in inches
S = Shear strength of material in PSI
1 Ton = 2,000 pounds
Note: Tool or die design can modify the results obtained by this basic formula.

Estimating Air Consumption for Yoder Air Presses
Apply your Air Consumption Factor to the formula below: Air Consumption Factor × Length of Stroke × Strokes per Minute = Estimate SCFM
